Almost from the beginning we the viewers knew that Helen had gone way over the line. We also knew she could have convicted the guy with just a modicum of threat and have done it before Berluti showed up. There was plenty to take it to trial then. It wasn't much fun because we knew how it would turn out.

Warning: Spoilers
Not only has this backfired for Helen before, but in the previous case her coercion was a little more ambiguous. This time she literally tells the suspect to confess or they will die, and makes up a bunch of lies to scare him, as well as taking advantage of her friendship with the suspect's defense lawyer. Is she stupid? This is the second time a guilty person has walked because of her. You'd think she learned her lesson the first time. Helen's writing in this episode was not good. At least the judges made the right call and she didn't get away with it.
