Ann Reynolds: [Ann's phone is just finished ringing as she gets in her office, hurrying to answer it] Damn!
[she picks up the receiver and dials]
Ann Reynolds: Ann Reynolds. Someone phoned through and I missed it. Was it an outside call? In future give me time to get to my office will you? You knew I was on my way.
[she hangs up and looks to Meg who has just entered]
Ann Reynolds: That bloody woman! Honestly...
Meg Morris: [playfully] No you wont! Governors aren't allowed.
Ann Reynolds: [relaxing] Sorry Meg. How are you? Better than me I hope.
Meg Morris: Well, that wouldn't be too hard. Still Joan I take it?
Ann Reynolds: Who else. I hope you didnt mind me phoning last night; I had to talk to someone.
Meg Morris: No, not at all. I wasnt having a very good night myself.
Ann Reynolds: I'm sure she just did it to get a reaction. You should have seen her face after that remark about Dan...
Meg Morris: Don't go on about it, you'll only upset yourself. Just dont let her win.
Ann Reynolds: She already has. I hit her. I just thank God no one saw it.
Meg Morris: Of course. But be careful; she'll keep goading you until you do it in front of a witness. Now are going to continue to talk about Joan and ruin our day or can I tell you about Connors?
