The Protectors have been tasked to be the Bodyguards for robber Ralph Corder. Even though he is dead and lying in his coffin.
It is a ruse to flush out Corder's associates and find out where the stolen loot is hidden.
Robard (Freddie Jones) and Mason (Manning Redwood) are the nervy associates. They then wonder if Corder could yet be alive.
Then they cannot run off with the money, they even consider killing Corder.
It is an elaborate set up by The Protectors. I think Chino took a risk with a bullet. How did Chino know that the baddie will have no bullets in his gun.
As for Harry Rule. It was like watching One Man and his Dog.
