Although Al was previously heard by Miss Melanie Trafford in The Color of Truth - August 8, 1955 (1989) and by Troian Claridge and her brother Jimmy Giovanni in A Portrait for Troian - February 7, 1971 (1989), Teresa Bruckner was the first person other than Sam who was able to see him. She is also the first person to see Sam as he really is.
From this point on, the intro of the show would go from the lessons Sam learned in his last leap to the mission of Quantum Leap and Sam Beckett. In this episode, it is narrated by Lance LeGault. Starting in the episode after, it would be narrated by Deborah Pratt.
The young girl Teresa, who is able to see Al, is actually played by Troian Bellisario, who is the daughter of the creator of the show, Donald P. Bellisario, and his wife at the time Deborah Pratt.
Susan Bruckner is played by Olivia Burnette who will also play Sam's little sister Katie Beckett in The Leap Home: Part 1 - November 25, 1969 (1990).
The "laboratory" building seen in the beginning starting with "Another Mother" is also seen in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and the original "Battlestar Galactica". The building was part of the Britain pavilion from Expo '67 in Montreal.
