A Brilliant Quantum Leap Forward!
prisminstructor23 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my top five episodes of the QL series but NOT because of the storyline of the "mission." It's great for this QL fan to get to go "behind the scenes" of the fictional Project QL and see what it's like on the other end--back (or ahead) in 1999 -- something we only get to see one or two other times, one of which was the episode when Sam leaps into a fugitive holding a mother and her daughter hostage in their house while the criminal he "replaced" escapes from the imaging chamber. I think there MAY have been one other time we get to see PQL's home, but I could be wrong. We also get to know that Sam is married in this episode yet there's no reference to when Sam reunited Donna with her father in "Star Crossed" from season-one. (I guess that just wouldn't fit in properly in this fast paced episode.) It would have been nice to have made this episode into a two-parter and somehow merged the storyline with Al & Beth and had Al & Sam "simoleaped" back hone for the show's finale. I give this a 9.5 only b/c I feel Sam's leap home as himself during Thanksgiving, was a true 10 out of 10 -- and my favorite QL episode of the series.

The Leap Back , perfect leaping Episode .

This was Quantum Leap at It's best , especially the switching personalities of Sam and Al , that was great , and seeing where it all happened , finally seeing all the characters in Sam's life . And seeing Sam's wife too, Donna ,beautiful lady and a most beautiful actress that portrayed her as well, Mimi Kuzyk was or is a beautiful actress as well as gifted and talented too .

Quantum Leap , like MASH , Star Trek , and Sliders , were great TV as well , they were what science fiction and comedy was about , . Let's hope the new Journeyman on TV this fall does as well . Too bad Battlestar Galactica is going off the air, that was perfect science fiction and drama combined . So long to everyone on Battlestar Galactica . Thankyou also .

Great fun! (huge spoilers right off)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is incredible, in both senses of the word. Let's hear the good news first. 1. the opening conversations are hilarious. 2. their both lost in time now. 3. Sam gets his memory back and Al loses his which is interestingly displayed. 3a. We learn some things about each characters past and present. 4. Sam gets home! Now for what doesn't make sense. (if you think him having a wife was a no-brainer go figure, watch 1x03 star-crossed. Th revelation was not that he had a wife but who she was.) 1. well, I suppose this makes sense in the format of the show (there would need to be some sense of urgency to the scene and this provides that) but typically 1997 wouldn't have 3 min 33 seconds to prevent a disaster from happening in the 1940's 3 min 33 seconds after he left he could go back to when he left couldn't he? 2. this episode does not seem congruent to the others in the series, it's almost like it's outside of it's own timeline; the timeline being the series and series structure. I think this is where things started getting seriously meta-physical. The ending is touching strange as it may seem. And it's pretty strange for the show. 3 ½ out of 5 stars

Very Bad Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I like this show a lot and had watched most episodes back when they first aired, but I forgot some of the changes that took place starting with this episode.

First off, Al kept referring to Ziggy as a "he" up until now, if I am not mistaken. But now it's magically a female voice.

Second, Ziggy is very annoying.

Third, I forgot that they have her voice over the events in the past.... it distracts from the episode.

It's a very annoying episode and I can't believe it's rated so highly. I don't remember much about the rest of season 4 and 5, so I hope the rest of the episodes aren't this way. Such a shame because the third season as great.
