This show is all Eric Fleming and outside guests, with Clint Eastwood (as Rowdy Yates) and Paul Brinegar (Wishbone) barely getting a look-in as the other two star regulars. It is a typically gritty and convincing performance as Gil Favor holds off Brenda Scott as the widow and prospective bride who woos him (or rather, his money), Lee Van Cleef as her dead husband killed by Gil, and Mark Slade as Brenda's stepson four years older than her. The three were in a lot of tv westerns -- Brenda Scott the biggest name -- before Van Cleef broke out to be a spaghetti western star in the early 1970s. Mark Slade, 24 here, would spend still more years as teenager "Blue Boy" Cannon in "High Chaparral" until he left that series aged around 30.
