Sydney crashes with a plane near a convent in Nova Scotia. The nuns incidentally have a special request. 400 years ago, Sister Evangeline was beheaded by pirates. Her ghost still is guarding the buried treasure of the pirates, it is believed. Appearances of that ghost are spreading fear in the neighborhood. Sydney and Nigel try to find out more about the ghost... and the pirates' treasure, of course.

Good story full of suspense, scary atmosphere and surprising turns – this episode convinced me, when I was watching the first TV broadcast, that I should continue watching the Relic Hunter series. But of course, pirates are always cool.

Warning: Spoilers
This one opens with the decapitation of a nun by pirates in 17th century Nova Scotia. Back in the present, Sydney is flying a cargo of relics back to Trinity College when a relic hunting adversary of Sydney's jumps out of his hiding place and steals a gold tiara; he parachutes out but not before shooting the airplane controls forcing Sydney to make an emergency landing in Nova Scotia. She soon meets Sister Mary who is the head of a centuries old convent; Sister Mary sees Sydney as an answer to a prayer and asks her to find the head of the nun decapitated centuries earlier. Not surprisingly, the convent is in great financial straights but fortunately a local businessman is aiding the nuns in establishing a computer based business. Beware developers bearing gifts. This episode was pretty good and it was very refreshing that the nuns' religious beliefs are taken seriously and with respect. The same respect was shown in an earlier episode but in that case with Buddhist beliefs.
