Mark learns that a badge does not always make a man.

Even though this episode was highly predictable, the show played out well when the writers inserted interesting side scenes that was pleasant to watch.

It begins as a renegade US Marshal, Jay Jefferson, comes to North Fork with a wanted poster for a man with general descriptions. He has been told that the man is in North Fork and is set to find him.

Marshall Jefferson is known to most people by bring people to justice. But there is a negative side to the Marshal that the town of North Fork will begin to see.

Mark is especially taken in by Marshal Jefferson and even looks up to him as a man that he wants to become in later life. Mark even helps out the marshal by giving names of people that might fit the description of the man on the poster. But soon Mark will learn that carrying a badge does not always mean the person is someone to follow. And by the end of the episode Lucas has taught another good lesson to not even Mark but all viewers.

Perhaps this show was way to predictable- but it played well. The small scenes of when a carnival comes to North Fork stand out better then the plot itself. For a fan of 'The Rifleman' this show will be a good watch.
