This episode features the last of 6 co-appearances by brothers Joseph Campanella and Frank Campanella in various movies and television shows. Unlike some of their earlier appearances, they do appear on-screen together briefly near the end of this episode.
When Rockford goes to see Solly, the bail bondsman, the sign (a plain black-lettered sign with yellow and gold stripes around) is fake - it's actually the right-most parking space of the building across the street, which served for most episodes as the police precinct where Becker was stationed. Even though the sign is fake, the spot was actually a real bail bond office, which can be seen in the episode, Chicken Little Is a Little Chicken (1975) (when Angel hustled Jim out of the station), and Where's Houston? (1976), when Beth and Rocky get Jim out of jail.
The voice leaving the message at the beginning of the episode is Sandra Gould, who played Mrs. Kravitz on Bewitched 1966-1971.
The message on Rockford's answering machine is from Miss Miller of the Bartlett book club, a subtle plug for series' writer Juanita Bartlett.
Joseph Campanella's character, Arnold Bailey, couldn't swim. This is discovered after Rockford pushes him into a backyard swimming pool. Two years earlier, in the 1974 made-for-TV movie "Hit Lady," Campanella played another character, Jeffrey Baine, that also couldn't swim.
