Adding to Dennis, a big cause of his money problems, is the fact he got a foreclosure house, and in the last year "the property taxes doubled". This was a common California problem at the time, and was solved with Proposition #13, which put a cap on how much property tax could be raised.
Noah Beery Jr.'s (Rocky) son, Bucklind Beery is back, as officer Al Mazursky. He's in both the prologue and the epilogue birthday party scenes. In the first, he's in an off-white shirt, and in the latter scene - wearing a green & white checkered shirt, he presents Dennis with a slice of cake.
This is the second appearance of Becker's wife, Peggy (Pat Finley). Her first appearance was in The Farnsworth Stratagem (1975).
When Jim takes Marty Golden in his car, and they're being followed by Kasajian's henchmen, the part where the henchmen's car runs into a fire hydrant was filmed on the Univeral backlot, rather than the actual streets of Los Angeles.
Becker's car (which won't start) is a 1963 Chevy Impala.
