This one is about Angel (played by Susan Dey), an old friend of Jill's who comes to town looking for stardom and gets involved with a pimp (played by Dack Rambo) who wants to get her into porn.
This story is certainly not original but it's well-done here, with nice performances by the entire cast, especially Susan Dey.
There aren't any shootouts or chases, which is extremely rare. It's the second straight episode without any chases, which is also extremely rare. There's a great fight scene at the end though.
Woodrow Parfrey plays a sleazy massage parlor manager in one of his many appearances on various TV shows throughout the '70s, usually playing drunks, conmen, informers and other lowlifes.
One problem I had is when Jill inexplicably goes into a seedy part of town BY HERSELF and visits some porn shops looking for Angel. What in the world is she doing?? She's a nurse - she's not an investigator!! Just unbelievably dumb. She really paid for it too as one of the porn shop owners threw her into an alley like a piece of trash.
There's a horrible mistake near the end when Jill is supposed to be riding in the patrol car with Danko and Ryker and there's certainly a woman in the back seat and her face can clearly be seen and it is definitely NOT JILL! It's obviously a stand-in. Wow. This is the worst mistake I've seen on this show yet. Hard to believe this wasn't corrected before the show aired. Obviously, the sensible thing to do here would be to have the woman sit directly behind either Ryker or Danko so her face can't be seen, but instead she's seated IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACKSEAT where her face can clearly be seen and it is certainly not Jill. What a dreadful mistake.
Due to the lack of action scenes, this isn't one of the best episodes of the season but it's still pretty good due to the first-rate acting and compelling story.
