• Officer Terry Webster : [Willie is sitting in the abandoned police car in the desert, trying in vain to get it started. It has run out of gas and the engine is stalled. Terry is standing outside]  Hold it! Hold it! Forget it! You're just gonna... burn out the engine.

  [Terry, suffering from two bullet wounds in his thigh, limps over to join Willie next to the car] 

  Officer Willie Gillis : [Willie looks at Terry despairingly]  Ok.. ok... .what do we do now?

  Officer Terry Webster : [Terry is fighting the pain from the bullet wounds; his breathing is labored as he looks directly at Willie]  We don't do anything... you do. You start walking outta here.

  Officer Willie Gillis : [Willie stares back at Terry, not believing what he just heard]  Uh-uh, no way, forget it... I'm not gonna leave you here in the middle of nowhere.

  Officer Terry Webster : [Terry, about to collapse from the intense pain in his thigh, answers Willie loudly and firmly]  Look, Willie, I don't want to die! Ok? I had a grandfather who lived to be 93 and I'm hoping to break that record. But I'm not gonna make it if you don't get your tail on outta here and get us some help!

  [Terry reaches out and places his hand on Willie's shoulder. He lowers his voice, then continues more quietly] 

  Officer Terry Webster : If I go with you, neither of us are gonna make it, 'cause I can't go another ten yards, much less another ten miles... ok?

  [Terry's breathing becomes even more labored as he speaks] 

  Officer Willie Gillis : [Willie nods his head in agreement]  Ok... better get inside, out of the sun.

  [Willie helps Terry get back into the car] 

  Officer Terry Webster : [Terry sits down, then looks up at Willie]  Anything in here you want to take with you?

  Officer Willie Gillis : Any flares in there?

  [Terry, now seated in the car, reaches into the glovebox and hands some flares to Willie. Terry continues breathing heavily from the pain he is suffering; his face and chest are glistening with sweat. He leans his head back, completely exhausted. Willie looks off into the distance, then gives a thumbs-up to Terry] 

  Officer Willie Gillis : Hey... later, huh?

  Officer Terry Webster : [Terry is sprawled on the car seat, in intense pain]  You bet.

  [He starts laughing as Willie is starting away] 

  Officer Terry Webster : Hey... just thinking... uh... a friend of mine used to say patikas por te quiero. He meant: feet, don't fail me now!

  [Terry laughs again] 

  Officer Willie Gillis : [Willie smiles and laughs as he leaves Terry]  Stay out of the sun!
