Pete's New Friend
Jimmy_the_Gent419 January 2021
Pete takes over an adult education history class and Ralph, one of the students constantly follows him everywhere.

A very good episode, some funny moments. Ralph is a very needy and talkative history buff and suddenly thinks Pete is his new best friend. He ends up barging in on Pete and Liz's dates. He ends up meeting Alice and she goes out with him since she doesn't want him to feel rejected, they end up discussing the historical inaccuracies of "The Sound Of Music" after seeing it. Ralph is played by Ron Rifkin who was in many guest appearances on several TV series.

Petes too nice
dtucker867 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The character of Ralph in this episode sort of reminds me of the character that John Candy played in Planes Trains and Automobiles. He is a nice guy but a giant pain in the butt! Pete takes over a night school class for one of his colleagues who is overworked and meets Ralph who is probably the world's biggest history trivia buff. He immediately bonds with Pete like human crazy glue and Pete is too nice to tell him to go take a hike. This guy even interferes with Pete's dates with Liz! He goes out on a date with our dear Alice Johnson and nearly drives her crazy (thats pretty bad). Finally Pete has a heart to heart with him and you get the idea that hes made a difference for good as always.
