"Blood is Thicker Than Junk" opens with Fred taking more time than usual on Lamont's breakfast: "nobody rushed the hen that's supplyin' 'em, don't rush the cook that's fryin' 'em!" Lamont gets so fed up with his father that he quits the business and looks for another job with Mr. Clifford (Vernon Weddle). All he can get is the same job with another junkyard, while Fred hires a musclebound Norman Blood (Roger Mosley) to drive his truck. Lamont works an hour and a half overtime for his slave driving new employer, while his father spends the day waiting anxiously for the return of his stolen truck. Norman finally returns with nothing to show for a day's work except for a stuffed bear: "this is THE one, you hear that Elizabeth? I'm comin' to join you honey, with a bear behind!" As bad as business can be, father and son remain close friends and continue their trade.
