"Going Out of Business" opens with accountant Calvin (Philip Bruns) set to work on the Sanford taxes, while Lamont worries about cheating. Fred objects to seeing Ah Chew (Pat Morita, second of seven) try to comfort an injured Lamont: "why you always hang out with him, you gonna wind up catchin' yellow jaundice!" Ah Chew: "what you got man, the black plague?" Making $7000 a year, and with no deductions, no major expenses, and nothing going to charity, Calvin suggests that Lamont quit the junk business and earn the same amount in another occupation. Fred doesn't warm to the notion of closing down Sanford and Son, but Son has other ideas. Fred at least abdicates his title of President to accept that of King! Lamont's job with a haberdasher (Basil Hoffman) isn't enhanced by Fred's attempt to impress as a customer. Philip Bruns would make one return appearance as Calvin in "My Kingdom for a Horse."
