Directing George Foreman, as scripted by Garry Shandling
kevinolzak19 November 2016
"The Director" was the second of four episodes scripted by Garry Shandling, guest starring former (and future) heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman, also the last of two appearances by George Wiltshire's Elroy Pitt, first seen in "The Escorts." Lamont gets a part as an aspiring doctor in a community play set to star George Foreman, with his greatest fan Fred Sanford determined to meet his idol. His constant meddling drives away the original director (Adam Wade), so guess who takes over the reigns for Foreman, complete with beret, megaphone, and Otto Preminger bald pate. Two years after losing his title to Muhammad Ali in Zaire, the good natured Foreman often breaks up throughout, much like Nathaniel Taylor.
