"The Merger" finds Lamont and Julio so exhausted from the long days that they feel that a merger will result in less work and more profit. Fred is naturally opposed to the three way split, but the prospect of making enough to sell franchises (like McDonald's) has him thinking he should call it 'Junk in the Box!' Things fall apart when Haywood Jones (Danny Wells) directs a TV commercial to air during the late movie, Lamont and Julio disagreeing about who should appear on camera, leaving Fred to handle it himself, with Julio translating for their Chicano viewers. Fred introduces son Lamont: "friends, I'd like you to meet somebody very close to me, this is my dog Spot!" We never heard another word about this merger, as Julio only appeared in one further episode.
