- Carrie has no luck at a baby shower: Stanford snatched the last good gift from the list, and host Kyra makes everybody take off their shoes. Carrie's Manolos disappear and Miranda insists she should be compensated. Kyra offers to pay for them until she finds out they cost $485. She claims the shoes are an irresponsible waste and will only pay $200. While she grumbles singles don't get any gifts after graduation, Samantha learns even her bravado is helpless when it comes to children. Miranda meets and instantly falls for handsome new upstairs neighbor Dr. Robert Leeds. After Harry moves in, Charlotte obsesses about his habit of leaving dripping teabags around the apartment; the next day she learns he walks around stark naked in the morning.—KGF Vissers
- Carrie's shoes are stolen at a party. It was a birthday party for twins of Stanford and her common friends Chuck and Kyra; the hostess Kyra (Tatum O'Neal) had made everyone remove their shoes as she doesn't like outside dirt in the house. Kyra is a famous photographer who makes her living taking pictures of babies in buckets. When Carrie notices that her shoes are missing, she points it out to Kyra, who is no help at all. She only loans Carrie some shoes to go home in.
The girls had encouraged Carrie to go back and ask for the money in exchange for the shoes stolen at her house. Carrie says that they were new shoes, and she was made to remove the shoes as part of the house rules.
Carrie goes back to Kyra, and Kyra offers to pay for the shoes, but is shocked to hear that they cost $485. Kyra offers $200 and says that it is crazy to spend that much on shoes. Kyra not only refuses to apologize but shames her for her extravagant footwear & judges Carrie for her lifestyle choices and says that such a life without husband and kids is no life at all. Carrie says that it was not her choice to take the shoes off. Kyra shames Carrie into leaving without any money at all.
Carrie realizes that for engagement, wedding and 3 babies, she has spent over $2300 on Kyra's life choices, but Kyra is shaming her for spending $485 on herself. But if Carrie doesn't get married, she gets nothing back from Kyra. Carrie calls Kyra and says that she is getting married to herself and is registered at Manolo Blahnik. Kyra gives in and buys her the shoes that cost $485. Her kids are told not to touch the shoes at the store.
Robert Leeds (Blair Underwood) has just moved into Miranda's building. Miranda was on the co-op board and ordered them to let Robert move in and not reject his application simply because he was African American. Robert is a doctor for the Knicks and Miranda was attracted to him the minute he walked in for his interview with the board. Robert duly moves in and comes to thank Miranda and seems to love Brady as well. Miranda flirts with the handsome Robert whenever she runs into him. Miranda gets chickenpox from Brady who got it from some kid at the playground, who licked him. Robert checks up on Miranda and writers her some medications. Robert comes up to watch TV with Miranda as his cable is not hooked up yet. They end up watching Miranda's TiVo series Jules and Mimi about an interracial couple.
Charlotte must adjust to living with Harry and his tea bags, which he dunks in hot water and leaves them all over in her pristine apartment. The tea bags leave stains on the tables and Charlotte hates it. Next, Harry starts moving around naked in Charlotte's apartment. But then Harry started sitting all over Charlotte's leather furniture. Charlotte speaks to Harry and convinces him to wear shorts.
Children misbehaving in nice restaurants annoy Samantha. She is not allowed to talk on cell phones in restaurants, but kid can make any amount of noise as they want to. When she confronts a mother, she gets spaghetti thrown in her face by her kid.
