- Carrie finally has a chance to present everybody to Aleksandr at a dinner, but he's rather aloof and drops the bombshell that he expects her to move with him to Paris for good. Samantha and Charlotte act supportive after some questions, but Miranda doesn't hide she's dead against the idea. Enid invites Carrie to a party, and asks her to bring Aleksandr and a friend of his for her. However she rejects graying food critic Martin Grable as an elderly 'hobbit', dumps him on Carrie and argues the fishing pond for her age group is so small that Carrie's relationship with the older Russian is unfair. Charlotte's King Charles Spaniel joins the list of pregnant females to be jealous of, annoyingly after doing it with eight pedigree-less mutts, but when the puppies come so does Charlotte's maternal instinct. After ample consideration, Carrie chucks her job and announces, symbolically at the funeral of Lexi Featherston, the party scandal queen of the 1980s, she is moving with Aleksandr to Paris.—KGF Vissers
- Enid reaches out to Carrie and needs a favor. Enid is throwing a party and wants Carrie to bring Alek, as she is inviting many folks from the art crowd in New York. And since the party now has mostly couples, she wants Carrie's help to get Alek to bring a date for her to her party in a week's time.
Petrovsky hosts a dinner party for Carrie's inner circle and makes a shocking announcement. He wants Carrie to come with him to Paris and announces that at dinner, without giving her the chance to talk to her friends first. Alek claims that Paris is the best city in the world and that does not go down well with Carrie's New York based friends. Charlotte is excited for Carrie and Carrie also believes that this is the most romantic that has ever happened to her. Alek asks Carrie to join him in his apartment in Paris, while he pays for her apartment in New York. Alek says that he has plenty of money and wants to be able to see plenty of Carrie. Her friends are not as excited as Carrie to see her go away with Alek indefinitely. Miranda feels that Carrie is giving up her career for the sake of Alek's career. Carrie believes that it's a nice offer and wants her friends to be happy for her. Carrie starts learning French.
Miranda thinks Carrie is not herself around Alek and that Alek is very pretentious. Steve tells Miranda that she believes that nobody is good enough for her and her friends. Carrie speaks to Alek and explores the possibility of staying in NYC, and just going to Paris for 3 months for his show. Alek says that he has been in NYC for 3 years and is done with the city. He wants to be in Paris now. But Carrie is not done with NYC yet. Alek is not in favor of long distance either.
Carrie and Alek bring Alek's friend Martin Grable (Wallace Shawn) as Enid's date for her party. But Enid hates Martin as he looks like a hobbit. Enid likes Alek but backs off when Carrie talks to her. Enid says that men her age like the bimbos. Enid makes Carrie realizes that the dating eligible pool of men drops as the women age, and right now, Carrie is wading in Enid's pool of dating eligible men.
Old party friend Lexi Featherson (Kristen Johnston) is a party girl but is alone at Enid's party and falls off Enid's window after she opens it up to have a smoke. Her death helps Carrie reach a big decision. Carrie decides to leave for Paris and quits her job, as she doesn't want to die alone like Lexi. Miranda has a fight with Carrie about how she thinks this is a mistake. Miranda says that Carrie's column is who she is. Carrie says that she cannot stay in New York and be single for Miranda, while all 3 of the girls have moved on.
Harry notices that their dog has put on weight. Charlotte measures her and finds that she gained 4 pounds, when her starting weight was 8 pounds. Elizabeth Taylor gets pregnant. Charlotte is angry that everyone around her is getting pregnant. But when Elizabeth gives birth to 3 puppies, she is really happy for her.
