This show deserves respect

This highly criticized show coincided with the Night Gallery, as I think the show was a package deal, yet fans of the latter show seem to detest the Sixth Sense for a reason I can't quite fathom, even though Rod Serling's show had many turkeys. Now that I'm finished rambling, this episode had a few familiar faces, along with Gary Collins as Dr. Rhodes, and they included a very young Scott Glenn(Mark Hall), and Paul Michael Glaser(David Hall), although here he's listed as Michael Glaser. The story is about a young woman named Carol(Sallie Shockley)who's having visions of a wax doll burning, and the good doctor shows up, though against family wishes, but does his best to help her figure out why she's having these awful visions. The old house and surrounding areas add a nice touch which makes this episode that more interesting; regarding Shockley and Josephine Hutchinson(Maude), this episode was one of the last acting gigs for both actresses. As the story progresses, Carol tells a suppressed secret that her best friend many years ago was in a drunken stupor and was about to be alone with a man, who turned out to be Mark(Glenn), but Carol was scared for her friend, and decided to lock her friend in a cabin, which eventually caught on fire and kills her friend. With friends like Carol, who needs enemies? Even though her intention was good, it seems a silly thing to lock a friend in a cabin alone, while she's intoxicated. After she confesses this to Dr. Rhodes, he does some investigating, but soon finds out that Mark was the one making the wax dolls and tormenting Carol, as he tries to kill Rhodes but fails miserably. The title of the episode is also named Candle, Candle, Burning Bright, and I would recommend this episode and several others of this maligned series, which deserves more credit than it ever received.
