Who wants to 'Bee' President? Sasha sure does
Rcwilkinson12314 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is very engaging because it hints at popular themes from Superman.

Something suspicious is going on in the race to become Class President at Smallville High School. Two of the three candidates have been ruthlessly attacked by countless bees. The one candidate remaining is a quiet, unpopular girl named Sasha, and Clark suspects her as the reason for the bee attacks. Meanwhile, Pete nominates Clark to run. Chloe asks what his slogan is going to be, and he replies, "oh, I don't know. Truth, justice... all that stuff." His campaign colors are blue, red and yellow.

Eventually, Clark is able to stop Sasha. Sasha obviously drops out of the election and is sent to a school that can help her overcome her problems. However, Clark isn't the one to take the presidency, instead going to a third darkhorse candidate.

The action rocks in this episode, and the soundtrack, featuring Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle," is exciting. The season progresses nicely in 1.18.

The Ability to Control Bees!
gab-147128 January 2022
Buzzzzzzzzzz. Do you hear that sound? Sounds like the dangerous buzzing of bees! Bees play a main factor in this episode, "Drone." I thought it was a rather good episode, an improvement on the previous episode. We get to see Clark run for class president, and his slogan is hilariously lame. The villain of the week ties into the class president story and she uses bees to her advantage. Lex continues to shine as his dark secrets threaten to unravel everything. Guest star, Marguerite Moreau, plays Carrie Castle. She is sinister yet beautiful. One could see why Lex or anyone for that matter would be hypnotized by her.

In this episode, two of the three candidates for class president are attacked by bees and taken out of running. That leaves one candidate, Sasha Woodman. Sasha, thanks to the use of meteor rocks, has the ability to control bees. Clark believes that she is behind the attacks. Pete nominates Clark to run for class president. Meanwhile, Lex is threatened by this ambitious Metropolis reporter, and he may have secrets that could be revealed. Lana still works at the Talon, but she is losing business because of competitors. Clark goes to Lex and asks for his help.

Overall, a better episode. I was not quite enamored with the villain but being able to control bees is a heck of a power. As someone who has been through several painful bee attacks, I would not want that pain on me. As always, Lex and his story manages to hold my attention. Carrie Castle is a welcome addition to the line of people ready to make his life miserable.

My Grade: B+

A Hazardous Election
claudio_carvalho8 April 2006
Along the dispute of an election of the president in Smallville high school, the candidate Paul Chan (Simon Wang) is hurt by a swarm of bees. Pete Ross decides to promote Clark Kent as the substituted for the spot. When the other aspirant schoolmate Felice Chandler (Chelan Simmons) is also attacked by bees, Clark believes that last competitor, Sasha Woodman (Shonda Farr), is behind the attacks. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor is threatened by an opportunist and ambitious reporter from Metropolis, Carrie Castle (Marguerite Moreau), and the thematic bar of Lana Lang is completely empty, losing clients to the competition and with the menace of closing the doors.

"Drone" is another excellent episode of "Smallville". The story has a good message about the formation of a personality and character of men of the future. Lex Luthor again has the best lines, giving great advices to Clark and Lana, and the actress Marguerite Moreau is extremely sexy and well-dressed. My vote is nine.
