Season One of this classic cartoon from my childhood is great and sets up well the life of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. We have a great collection of villains here from Doctor Octopus to the Lizard, all introduced in a way that shows their links to the character and showing them to be a threat. The people in Peter's life like Aunt May, MJ, Felicia and J Jonah Jameson all feel accurate to the characters we know and love and work well with Peter and Spidey. What makes this series stand out is the plot arcs throughout the series, whether that be the actions of the Kingpin or Eddie Brock's downfall which culminates in the 'Alien Costume' arc, which is fantastic and the highlight of the series for me. The 'Spider Slayer' stuff is the weakest here but still decent enough and gives context to the Norman Osbourne/Kingpin rivalry. Overall a great start and I can't wait to keep going down the nostalgia line. 8.5/10.
