Wow some of these reviewers are so dumb it's baffling

I'm 30 and I'm rewatching these episodes and still laughing hysterically. This was one of the most brilliant kids cartoons of its era. I hear it's not great now, which makes sense, especially after the passing of Hillenburg. But the first few seasons were as good as cartoons get.

The first episode I used to call my favorite. Not sure if it's better than Band Geeks, but def Top 5 SpongeBobs of all time. Can we talk about something though? Doesn't Spongebob know that crazy guy? He was literally at his house party the episode before and he's seen at the Krusty Krab plenty of times. I think he might be the "what did you do to my drink?!" Guy too. Unless those are all different fish who look exactly the same and they're all related.

The devious con artist is such a jerk but I gotta give him props!

This episode is so good because EVERY SINGLE JOKE lands. It's just so consistently funny. The funniest scene comes when Sponge and Pat meet an elderly woman and her 1,000 year old mother.

The Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy episode is adorable. I don't know who the Commissioner guy is but he's hilarious. It's a little more PG than most eps which is fun! It's fun to have a superhero episode and it all comes to an end in a very silly and heartwarming, charming ending.

If you don't let your kids watch this, because you're worried about it rotting their brains, you're not a good parent. If your kid is enjoying it and laughing, you should be watching with them. Even if you don't get it!

Chocolate with Nuts and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V are good SpongeBob episodes.

Chocolate with Nuts is one of reasons why people love SpongeBob so much. In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick try to become entrepreneurs by selling chocolate bars. The only things that stand in their way of becoming successful are health-conscious customers, customers with a low patience, a con artist and a creepy guy who at first just creams "chocolate" at them. When they don't think the chocolate bars are doing well, they begin to stretch the truth. This episode became several Internet memes on YouTube. The episode has a simple plot, but the jokes are hilarious. "...And now that I've got you right where I want you, I'd like to see this again soon." 9.5/10

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V is the fifth Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episode. Fed up with being treated like a kid, Barnacle Boy (or Barnacle Man)joins Man Ray and the Dirty Bubble in doing bad things while SpongeBov, Sandy, Patrick and Mr. Krabs team up with Mermaid Man and become the Super Friends. The episode has a strong plot, and there are some decent jokes. 8.5/10

i love love love love love this episode, it's like never on anymore though...except on really late and I'm already in school..you should so put it on air a lot more that it already it seriously i love this one especially when sponge bob square pants and Patrick go to the door with the 2 old lady's and then the lady's like "what are they selling?", "they're selling chocolates." "what are they selling?" "chocolates." i still laugh so hard when i hear that ha ha sponge bob square pants is my favorite show of all time, i love that episode so much please put that episode on at like 5:00 or something, that would be awesome =]] thank-you

"Fancy Living here we come la la la" Chocolate with Nuts is one of those episodes you are happen to be brought back to when watching apongebob as a child. Patrick and spongebob are looking to make some cash and live fancy like the ad they found in squidwards magazine article. They start to realize they need to become entrepreneurs and sell items people might want. Ahh this episode was hilarious it really was. They decided to sell chocolate with or without Nuts and people aren't really buying it so they exaggerate the truth and say ridiculous things like, "you'll fall in love! You'll rule the world, you rub it on your skin and it will make you live forever!" These two entrepreneurs are incredibly funny and you got the crazy dude yelling CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE! And you got the scammer who ends up scamming them

The next episode is one of those warm hearted episodes. Barnacle boy wants to be treated like a man and that's all he ever wanted. He feels mermaid man treats him like a boy, but he is "62 years old" and wants to be treated like a man. He ends up going to the dark side (the side of the restaurant Mr.Krabs doesn't light because it waste money) they go on adventures and finally they reunite once again and become friends. I have a tear in my eye. It was adorable and absolutely beautiful.

Yet another classic duo

Chocolate with Nuts - Ah, this one's a classic. SpongeBob and Patrick try to become entrepreneurs by selling chocolate bars. While, initially, they keep falling into the hands of a greedy con-artist, they eventually do find their fortune when one of the most famous background fish of the entire show comes in and purchases their entire stock. In my eyes, this is the undisputed king of quotable episodes. Every line is a winner, every gag sticks the landing, and SpongeBob and Patrick as a duo are at their best here. What can I say? It's amazing! (10/10)

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy V - As a Mermaidman and Barnacleboy episode, this one is super creative and a ton of fun. Barnacleboy turns to the side of evil as a means of getting back at Mermaidman for treating him like a child. In addition to being home of the legendary line "EVERY, VILLAIN, IS, LEMONS. OTHERWISE KNOWN AS E. V. I. L.!", we get to see what would happen if SpongeBob and the gang were given superpowers for a day. Obviously, it doesn't go too well, but it's really funny. And the ending's very sweet, considering what this show is. Probably my favorite appearance of the Superhero duo, and one of my favorites of S3! (9/10)

Overall - No surprises here, this duo is a real standout, and a perfect testament to how legendary Season 3 could get. Whenever this pair comes on, I never change it. Give this a watch if you haven't, yet!

Score: 9 + 10 = 19/20 -> 9.5/10; Near Perfection! Would highly recommend.

Amazing double Episode

Usually I have problems with giving SpongeBob Episodes a 10 because of the classic Double Episode format. In this case I'd give both episodes AT LEAST a 9 and both are just hilarious and memorable. I think especially Chocolate with Nuts is one of the most well known and liked SpongeBob episode while Mermaidman and Barnacleboy V is one of my personal favorites.

10/10 double Episode.

It's a good but OVERRATED episode

This Episode has funny moments but I was bored a few times . But I understand why this episode is so loved. Overall, it's a good Episode but not one of the best

Misleading

The show is misleading , how are we supposed to educate our children when we are made to believe that spongebob has squarepants when he is clearly a vertical rectangle wearing horizontal rectangular pants, where are the square pants?... I'm baffled, if that's a square then I'm a bear! I think the show should either go off air for false advertising and misleading young minds or change the name to spongebob rectangle pants!

My daughter is only 2 and she has a half sister who is 7. I absolutely will not, under any circumstances let my 2 year old watch even a minute of this ridiculous show! It is so stupid! Not to mention whenever my step daughter watches she turns into a zombie and we cannot get her attention. So annoyed that this show is still on.
