- Scaredy Pants: Halloween party. I Was a Teenage Gary: Squidward takes care of SpongeBob's pet snail.
- Scaredy Pants: It's Halloween again, and like every year before, SpongeBob is the easiest scare in Bikini Bottom. This year SpongeBob is determined to turn the tables and scare everyone at Mr. Krabs' Halloween party. With Patrick's help, SpongeBob devises what is sure to be the scariest costume ever. Although SpongeBob's costume scares no one, his presence does summon Bikini Bottom's most feared ghostly legend - The Flying Dutchman, who is appalled by the way SpongeBob is portraying him. I Was a Teenage Gary: Squidward reluctantly agrees to take care of SpongeBob's pet snail, Gary, for a few days while SpongeBob is out of town. When Squidward's negligence causes Gary to become ill, SpongeBob accidentally takes a dose of the snail medicine, which causes SpongeBob to turn into a snail. Squidward is now faced with taking care of both Gary, and the impossible SpongeSnail.—NAS
- Scaredy Pants:
It's Halloween in Bikini Bottom, and SpongeBob is cleaning the dishes in the Krusty Krab at the end of the work day. He is frightened by the creepy door closing and a word (or possibly a message) reading "BOO" on the order slips. After he finishes, he begins to run away, but Mr. Krabs stops him and asks him if he wants to hear his "annual scary story," and he then does. He tells a story of "The Flying Dutchman," a ghost who steals souls on Halloween. Squidward, dressed up as the Flying Dutchman, appears behind SpongeBob, saying that he'll steal his soul, terrifying him. SpongeBob, who has a reputation for being easily scared, and is nicknamed "SpongeBob ScaredyPants," rushes home, and is scared by everything he sees on the way. After being scared by Patrick, he asks him for help. They make a "Flying Dutchman" costume, but it fails to scare anyone. SpongeBob realizes that a real ghost has a round head, and that he has a square one. Patrick shaves SpongeBob's head, making it round. Believing themselves to be scary, SpongeBob and Patrick go around town attempting to scare people, and believe themselves to be successful in doing so, although their "victims" are simply confused by their antics. They then go to the roof of the Krusty Krab where a Halloween party is taking place, turn off all the lights, and lower SpongeBob with a rope, with Patrick providing the voice of the "Dutchman," which initially terrifies everyone. However, when a jellyfish stings Patrick, whom the rope is tied to, he starts running around in pain, causing SpongeBob to fly around uncontrollably, exposing his true identity. Everybody starts laughing at SpongeBob, but soon the real Flying Dutchman appears. He explains to them how offended he is by people dressing up as him for Halloween, and that SpongeBob's costume is the worst of all. He says that SpongeBob is the "straw that broke the camel's back," and that he will now steal the souls of everyone present. He takes off SpongeBob's costume, which revealed that his brain is exposed as a result of Patrick's shaving. Subsequently, everyone runs away, including the Dutchman, leaving SpongeBob satisfied to finally have succeeded in scaring people. Patrick comments on SpongeBob's "pink hat," and SpongeBob explains that it's not a hat, it's his brain, and Patrick screams and runs away. SpongeBob says "Don't worry, it grows back!" and the episode ends.
I Was a Teenage Gary:
SpongeBob and Patrick are all set to leave for the jellyfishing convention in Ukelele Bottom that weekend. Realizing that he will not be able to take Gary, SpongeBob leaves Gary in Squidward's responsibility. SpongeBob takes Squidward around his house, telling him that he will have to feed Gary for three days. There are very large cans of snail food with the words "morning", "afternoon" and "night" written on them, so that Squidward will be able to keep track. Eager to get rid of both of them, Squidward lies and says that he will do it to get SpongeBob and Patrick to leave. They do, and Squidward runs out of SpongeBob's house and sits in a lounge chair for the whole weekend, thus ignoring Gary. He soaks up plenty of sun, but Gary is left in the house, looking longingly in the direction where SpongeBob left, horribly neglected. When SpongeBob gets back, Squidward suddenly remembers that he was supposed to take care of Gary. However, when he goes to get Gary, he finds him very sick, due to lack of food, water, and attention. Squidward, thinking he will be able to help, tried to give Gary some food. However, Gary is so weak from waiting for SpongeBob to come home, he is limp in Squidward's arms and will not eat. Squidward puts Gary down as he hears SpongeBob and Patrick saying goodbye to each other, and tries to force feed Gary. When he hears SpongeBob coming in, Squidward gives up and puts all of Gary's food into his mouth. He greets SpongeBob awkwardly, and explains that he was only checking on Gary. Just as Squidward is about to leave, a smirk on his face, Gary slowly enters the room. SpongeBob realizes that something is wrong, and quickly calls the local veterinarian, Dr. Gill Gilliam. He comes over to SpongeBob's house, and gives SpongeBob a syringe full of snail plasma. SpongeBob asks Squidward to give Gary the plasma, as he is squeamish. Squidward reluctantly agrees and, while trying to inject Gary, accidentally injects SpongeBob with snail plasma causing SpongeBob to worry about the consequences. Upon realizing that Gary only needed water, Squidward leaves telling SpongeBob not to worry. Sometime later, SpongeBob starts acting slow and somewhat like a snail, as well as eating Gary's food himself. When he goes to the bathroom, his eyes stretch out of his body and grow, his arms and legs disappear into his body, and his body reshapes itself. As a finished result SpongeBob has turned into a snail, becoming SpongeSnail. Afterwards, he goes over to Squidward's house to get help, but Squidward is terrified of the fact that SpongeBob turned into a snail because of his lousy aim and he throws the snail plasma away and he tries to reassure himself, but he hears SpongeSnail at the door and starts blocking the doors and windows and tries to run and hide from SpongeSnail. He chases him for help, but Squidward keeps running from his life thinking he's under attack which ultimately makes a mess of his house. Amongst the chaos, Squidward accidentally injects himself with the plasma, turning him into a snail as well, becoming SquidSnail. The ending has Gary, SpongeSnail and SquidSnail meowing to the tune of "Blow the man down" on top of a fence. Patrick, annoyed by this yells at them to clam up and throws a boot at SquidSnail. Gary and SpongeSnail continues to meow, but SquidSnail tries to meows the rest that ends after fading to black.
