  Ruth Evershed : Danny's dead.

  Harry Pearce : Where's Sam?

  Ruth Evershed : She's been put under sedation.

  Harry Pearce : Well, we can't be put under sedation, can we? We're the ones who've got to stay focused and sort this out. Help Adam, find out where they're holding the last hostage. I'm relying on you, Ruth. There'll be time to grieve later. I promise you, there will be time to grieve, but not now. Now it's not about Danny and Fiona, but about two hostages. We can still save the second hostage.

  Ruth Evershed : How do you know?

  Harry Pearce : You knocked.

  Ruth Evershed : It's Adam.

  Harry Pearce : What's the matter?

  Ruth Evershed : He just called and cancelled the meeting with you because he says he's with Danny and Fiona.

  Harry Pearce : Well, it's just a routine briefing. It can wait.

  Ruth Evershed : Yes, but he...

  Harry Pearce : But what?

  Ruth Evershed : He said that he'd bought Fiona chocolates for her birthday, as I suggested.

  Harry Pearce : Thought that was my suggestion?

  Ruth Evershed : Exactly, and...

  Harry Pearce : Well, he's probably just mixed up.

  Ruth Evershed : Harry, I talked to Adam. There is no way in this world he was going to buy Fiona chocolates for her birthday, no matter who suggested it. Not that there's anything wrong with, with chocolates as a birthday present, of course. He just wasn't going to do it.

• Ruth Evershed : So, what are you getting Fiona for her birthday?

  Adam Carter : Sorry, Ruth.

  Ruth Evershed : What?

  Adam Carter : You might be her mole. And even if you weren't, telling you would only put you in danger. Fiona takes her birthdays very seriously.

  Harry Pearce : Glad to hear it.

  Harry Pearce : Chocolates might be the answer. Nice ones, of course. Get Sam to nip across to that Belgian shop.

  Adam Carter : Yeah that's, that's not a bad idea, Harry.

  Sam Buxton : Do I sound like I'm from Wales?

  Zafar Younis : Yeah.

  Zafar Younis : Isn't it your national day soon?

  Sam Buxton : I'm not Welsh!

  Zafar Younis : Look, it's nothing to be ashamed of.
