- To fix a mistake caused by the fake SG team, the real SG-1 must enlist the help of two convicts. The threat of an approaching Goa'uld mothership stresses the repair of the Sentinel.
- SG-1 is sent to planet Latona, which is under attack from Goa'uld System Lord Svarog because its Ancient defense system, the Sentinel, stopped working after Maybourne's rogue NID team secretly disassembled and reassembled it. Colonel Sean Grieves and his rude assistant, Lieutenant Kershaw, are taken from death row to join the rescue mission to repair it and/or evacuate the Latonans. Planetary leader Marul refuses to accept facts, despite the rule of terror already being installed by a Jaffa battalion, even when Svarog's starship arrives and Jack insists it's time to leave with or without the Latonans, claiming the Guardian must be alive and alert as a flame signifies. When Sam joins the repair team, which Daniel helped pass the ingenious protection field, the gruesome story of how the NID thieves got to it the first time proves crucial.—KGF Vissers
- The Goa'uld have delivered an ultimatum to the people of P2A-018. Up to now, the planet benefited from an automated self-defense device that protected them from Goa'uld attack. For some reason the device is no longer functioning and SGC suspects it's due to something Col. Maybourne's rogue NID team may have tampered with during their visit there. Col. Sean Grieves and Lt. Kershaw are on death row for treason as a result of that visit and get the offer of commuted sentences if they accompany SG-1 to the planet and try to fix whatever it was they did.—garykmcd
- The SG-3 reports to the SGC that the planet Latona is under Goa'uld attack since their powerful defense system called The Sentinel is not working. The SG-1 blames the rogue NID team commanded by Maybourne that had disassembled and reassembled the piece of equipment to learn and steal its technology. Jack brings the former Colonel Sean Grieves and Lieutenant Kershaw that are on death row to join the SG-1 and repair The Sentinel. Will they succeed in making The Sentinel work again?—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
