- Senator Kinsey is shot in the chest at a public event, killing him just before his party's presidential nomination. Jack is arrested for the murder, and General Hammond assigns the rest of SG-1 to uncover the truth.
- SPOILER: After Senator Robert Kinsey is seemingly assassinated, Jack O'Neill is arrested for his murder. The authorities have CCTV footage that clearly shows O'Neill - or someone who very much looks like him - in the hotel from which the fatal shot was fired. No one at SGC can believe he is the assassin, and Carter thinks that the mimic devices used to attack the SCG three years ago may have been used. The 12 devices they captured were stored at Area 51, but on examination, Carter finds that they are missing. She heads to Washington, where NID agent Malcolm Barrett tells her he is working on rooting out rogue NID forces. After tracking down the scientist who stole the mimic devices, Teal'c and Jonas Quinn seek out whoever is impersonating O'Neill. All is not as it seems.—garykmcd
- SG-1 is investigating informally after general Hammond is forced to turn Jack over to justice, as a sniper matching his description fatally shot controversial US Senator Robert Kinsey, recorded by a hotel camera. Jack insists he was fishing alone in Minnesota, hard to prove for Jonas and Teal'c, who stumble upon another impersonation. Teaming up with NID agent Malcolm Barrett, who sits on a crucial secret, Carter guesses Jack was impersonated using one of the twelve alien mimic devices stored in Area 51, where they finds them replaced, and rightly guess more criminal abuse.—KGF Vissers
