- Sheppard is infected with the Wraith retrovirus and slowly turns into an Iratus bug. To provide a treatment, stem cells must be retrieved from one of their eggs.
- After Sheppard has been bitten by Wraith Ellia in the arm, he is rushed to the infirmary. Dr. Beckett wipes away the blood and finds no wound. He is flabbergasted and releases him. Sheppard feels fine, maybe a bit too fine. Suddenly he's better in running than Ronon and for the first time he beats Teyla with the sticks. Beckett finds out he is infected with the Wraith retrovirus. Like Ellia he will become an Iratus bug. The only treatment the medical team can think of is to inject him with Iratus bug stem cells. Beckett takes a team to a cave crowding with the creatures to obtain the cells from their eggs. With Sheppard not on duty anymore, Colonel Caldwell assumes command. Immediately he starts changing things.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- Although Sheppard was bitten by Wraith Ellia who injected herself with the Wraith retro-virus, Becket finds no wound and hopes for the best. However John's physical performance outclasses even Ronon, and he soon gets symptoms of a transformation into the iratus bug, which Becket fears will be irreversible and fatal. As he would become a lethal threat, he has to be confined and tells Weir to put him down before it goes too far. Daedalus commander colonel Caldwell meanwhile takes over military command, hastily making changes as if Sheppard may never resume. A scientific brainstorm comes up with a theoretical solution, but it can only be made by manipulating stem cells, which requires embryonic material from bug eggs. Becket, McKay, Ronon and major Lorn lead an Atlantis team racing against time, find an Iratus bug hybrid hive, inside a cave system, but fail to harvest eggs, losing two soldiers rushing out. Sheppard takes over, as he has nothing to lose and is accepted due to iratus pheromones.—KGF Vissers
- Wounded in a attack by Ellia, Sheppard begins to suffer the results: slowly morphing into an Iratus bug. Dr. Beckett has little time to find a serum and several members of the team try to locate the basic compound that will let him save Sheppard: stem cells from the Iratus bug. On Atlantis, Dr. Weir has no choice but to appoint Col. Caldwell as the temporary military commander but his swift action in changing many of Sheppard's standing orders sends the wrong message.—garykmcd
- Colonel Sheppard begins to undergo a disturbing physical transformation after being exposed to Beckett's anti-Wraith drug.
