- The team discover an Ancient project to create the ultimate power source. McKay thinks he can finish it. Ronon finds out he is not the only surviving Satedan.
- The away team visits Doranda, inhabited according to the Ancient database. McKay doesn't detect any life signs however. In orbit they find a large destroyed Wraith fleet, on the surface everything is turned into dust. Only one building is left standing and McKay recognizes it as Ancient. It looks like an improved ground based version of the weapons satellite. McKay and Zelenka find out the ancients were experimenting with high-energy physics to find the ultimate power source, harnessing vacuum energy from our own space-time. McKay is one hundred percent convinced he can finish their project. Meanwhile Teyla travels to the planet Belkan to obtain a disease-resistant strain of flaxseed. Ronon joins her and one of the Belkan negotiators tells he's not the only surviving Satedan.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- After having found an experimental Ancient power generator, whose tapping into energy is in theory far superior to a ZPN, McKay becomes obsessed with triumphing where the Ancients who invented it failed despite wrecking a whole Wraith fleet, having made a fatal error in the haste of a war. The price may be too high, as the first experiment goes at of control with a fatal casualty. The Pentagon agrees to a next test, Weir allows it because Sheppard comes along to rein overconfident McKay, which proves desperately necessary. Ronon and Teyla meanwhile gate-travel to the planet Belkan to trade, but find the terms offered unsatisfactory as their labor or technology aren't prized high. They also discover that hundreds of Ronon's Satedan people, including former comrades in arms, survived and live or trade there and around. Ronon enjoys meeting some, and insists to meet his former regimental commander, but not for a happy reunion.—KGF Vissers
- Dr. McKay thinks he may have found an endless supply of power when he discovers a new kind of Ancients' technology on a distant planet. Judging from the debris of a Wraith fleet found in orbit around the planet, they may have also found a very powerful weapon. McKay's hubris may come at a very high cost however. Meanwhile, Ronon Dex accompanies Teyla on an off-world mission to open up trade. Always believing that he was the last of his people, he's amazed to learn that some 300 Satedan survived the Wraith attack on his planet. He also learns that his old military instructor is one of them and now on the same planet.—garykmcd
