"Superman: The Animated Series" Obsession (TV Episode 1998) Poster

Tim Daly: Superman, Clark Kent

Quotes

  • Toy Guards : Halt! Friend or foe?

[Superman destroys the guards with his heat vision]

    Superman : Foe.

  • Superman : Kick. Left jab. Low kick. Left, right.

The Toyman : What's he doing? He's trying to work out the ninja's moves. But the program is too complicated. He'll never figure it out.

  • Clark Kent : This couldn't have been some random kidnapping. And she knows more about it than she told the police. I'm sure of it.

Lana Lang : That's Darci. She takes reticence to a whole new plateau.

  • Superman : [saving Lana from a fire]  I was trying to find Darci.

Lana Lang : Lucky for me. She was here, all right. But now she's at the pier looking for Toyman.

Superman : Toyman? Did he do this?

Lana Lang : No. This was Darci. There's something about her you should know.

  • Lana Lang : [after her fashion show is interrupted]  I had a feeling you'd show up.

Superman : I was in the neighborhood.

  • Clark Kent : [searching Darci's apartment]  No photos, no letters. Not a hint of her past. What's your story, Darci?

[opening the refrigerator and seeing it's empty]

Clark Kent : I know these girls have to watch their figures, but not even a diet soda?

    Darci Mason : [entering]  Hungry?

    Clark Kent : Uh...

Darci Mason : Didn't I see you at the fashion show? You some kind of stalker?

    Clark Kent : No. I'm a reporter.

Darci Mason : [picking up the phone and dialing 911]  Even worse. At least stalkers are honest about what they do.

    Clark Kent : I'm also a friend of Lana's.

    [Darci hangs up]

Clark Kent : She and I want to help you.

Darci Mason : I'm a big girl, and I can take care of myself. Believe me.

Clark Kent : After what happened yesterday, I'm a little skeptical...

Darci Mason : [hearing a distant booming getting closer]  What's that?

Clark Kent : [a giant wind-up boxing kangaroo leaps onto her balcony]  Get back.

  • Jimmy Olsen : [taking pictures at a fashion show]  I can't believe we're getting paid to do this.

Clark Kent : Covering some fashion show? That's why I became a reporter, Jimmy.

Jimmy Olsen : Come on, Clark. You can't tell me you're not excited about interviewing Darci Mason.

Clark Kent : She's only a model. Besides, what's there to talk about? Eyeliner?

  • Jimmy Olsen : Watch out, Clark. You're gonna burn a hole in those glasses.

Clark Kent : What do you mean?

Jimmy Olsen : Well, the way you're staring at her. Or is it just the suit?

[a knight, a cowboy, and a spaceman show up and start wreaking havoc]

Jimmy Olsen : I've got a feeling this isn't part of the show.

    [Clark surreptitiously sneaks away]

Jimmy Olsen : This sure beats eyeliner, doesn't it, Clark?

    [seeing he's gone]

    Jimmy Olsen : Clark?

  • The Toyman : I know why you're here. You want Darci for yourself.

Superman : That's not true, Schott.

The Toyman : Well, I built her, and she's mine. But nothing's worth having unless you're willing to fight for it. So why don't we settle this the old-fashioned way? With a duel.

Superman : [his path is blocked by a grid of laser beams]  I'm not playing your games, Winslow.

The Toyman : I don't think you have a choice.

[Superman is backed onto a life-size game board]

The Toyman : Allow me to introduce Death Fist Ninja, my latest game. You won't find this in the stores.
