'The Flash' Joins 'Supe' Against 'The Weather Wizard'
ccthemovieman-111 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
It's Superman versus "The Flash" is a race to see who's the fastest person in Metropolis. Proceeds go to the charity. You would think no one could come close to matching the Man of Steel but "The Flash" is no slow poke. He's also cocky

These two guys have to run around the globe 100 times. Yes, through traffic, over oceans, through deserts, etc. Kind of dumb, I would think. While they are doing that, a new villain is going to show his stuff: "The Weather Wizard." He stops the race with a violent storm off the northern coast of Australia. Superman and The Flash rescue the men and repair a big oil tanker. Charlie Schlatter did a fine job, by the way, as the voice for the "The Flash."

The "Wizard" (Miguel Ferrer) then goes on TV and proclaims to everyone what he just did and wants a billion dollars transferred to his overseas bank account within an hour or "the forecast will get decidedly gloomy." The Flash recognizes the guy as " Mark Mardon," an extortionist who once threatened to blow up the Metro Tunnel.

Soon, Superman and The Flash are frozen as the Weather Wizard does his thing again. Later, he threatens to unleash a hurricane on Metropolis. I won't divulge any more, including how this winds up. Suffice to say this was good stuff, and different from the normal outer-space alien-type stories. I think I prefer these Earth villains like this guy and Livewire from last week's show. . This episode was the last one in volume one of the "Superman - The Animated Series DVD. The DVD did not go in the order that was used on the TV shows. I hope it's not the least we see of "The Flash," either. His banter with Superman was fun to hear.
