Alex gets spooked by a near-miss.

Warning: Spoilers
I am a big fan of the old 'Taxi' TV series, and am currently re-watching all the old episodes on DVD.

In this one we see the garage in its usual busy state, Louie assigning cabs, when someone asks where Alex is. Nonchalantly he says that Alex was shot and had to go to the hospital. All the friends of Alex were livid, why didn't Louie tell them something? But as they were getting upset Alex walks in, a large bandage on his left ear. Seems that the gunman shot when Alex hit the accelerator and only grazed him.

However, the loud pistol blast injured Alex's hearing, so much of the early comedy in this episode involved people asking Alex something and he answering to a different 'sounds like' question.

Alex tries to "get back on the horse" and do his cabbie rounds but is too scared, so he quits. Then we see him as a waiter in a fancy restaurant, and his core of cabbie friends visit him by getting a table that Alex waits on. After a few more comedic minutes, Alex decides he misses his friends and his freedom too much and, even though he will make less money, goes back to being a cabbie.

Good episode.
