It seems The Majestics are never destined to perform together. Someone always ends up in hospital.
The tour moves on but an appearance on a local radio station spells trouble for Bomba. A woman phones up claiming to be his daughter. The Majestics played here in the 1960s and someone got frisky in Vincent's birthday party.
It now looks both Bomba and Vincent have unwanted offsprings. For Vincent his wife has showed up and he promised Glenna that he will not get frisky with his own wife. Unfortunately that leads to trouble as Vincent's wife take an overdose of pills.
Again there is a lot of comedy that balances the drama, even some dark drama. No one apart from Suzi Kettles bats an eyelid when Vincent wife tries to top herself. As she has attempted it before and she is a nurse.
Danny declares his love for Suzi but she is having none of it. She knows what Danny really wants.
As for the paternity story, thankfully for Bomba there is a nice twist. It means more singing for Suzi on the night. Love is Strange is an appropriate way to end the episode.
There is a good exploration here in the relationship between Eddie Clockerty (Richard Wilson) and Miss Toner (Katy Murphy.) So far I assumed she was a gobby cheeky personal assistant or as Eddie Clockerty calls her, a gallus woman.
Here it transpires that there is an unseen Mrs Clockerty and she is unaware of her husband's whereabouts and who he is with. Looks like they are an item of sorts.
This is a brilliant episode, hilariously funny at times such as the outfit Glenna has knitted for Vincent. I also like the Scots vernacular that is dropped in here and there.
