The uneasy alliance between a crook and a coward.
planktonrules19 September 2021
Lt Jaydee Jones is afraid of flight combat, though he is keeping this to himself. However, as time passes he gets more and more afraid...to the point where he panicked during takeoff and ends up smashing the plane and killing the co-pilot and bombardier. The flight engineer, Sgt. Chapman witnessed the pilot panicking and crashing the plane but instead of reporting this, he lies to save Jones' butt. Why? Because Chapman is a crook and needs Jones to provide an alibi for him. However, over time, evidence against Chapman mounts and so Chapman decides to take off for either a neutral country or even Axis-controlled territory in France. And this means Chapman is going to have to force Jones to fly him there! Can Jones' brother and Col. Gallagher stop this weird conspiracy?

Burt Reynolds plays a real scumbag as Chapman and Jones' brother is played by Bruce Dern. Add to that Peter Mark Richmond and you've got a pretty amazing cast of guest stars. This is a huge plus for the show. A minus is that the story does seem a bit farfetched as well as a slopping mistake at the end where Gallagher is flying a P-51 Mustang fighter that keeps changing from one model to another. While normally this is NOT a problem, the difference between the razorback and bubble top models is HUGE and obvious....plus they are painted different colors! Sloppy....very sloppy...but not all that unusual for the series.
