Onward and Upward

Some pretty interesting stuff. We start out with Bobby getting a new job, doing dirty work for Benjamin Home. Cooper is working to clear his name as he is suspected of peddling cocaine. James is totally taken with the beautiful woman who is having him repair her Jaguar. Andy and his adversary begin to fight over custody of the little boy and it appears each is getting more than they bargained for. Bobby comes up with incriminating evidence, but Audrey is watching him and pulls a coup involving Cooper. At the end there is an appearance from someone we have been wondering about. There is even more, but this episode is mostly exposition.

Cooper gets closer to clearing his name
Tweekums30 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Still suspended Agent Cooper continues to try to clear his name; he visits a local estate agent to find uninhabited properties and a toss of a coin takes him to Dead Dog Farm, which he is told isn't as nice as its name would suggest! When he gets there he finds traces of Cocaine which he anticipates will match that found in his car, Meanwhile an increasingly mad Ben Horne has hired Bobby Briggs to follow Hank Jennings; he takes pictures which he gives to Ben... then Audrey takes them to Agent Cooper; what they show should be enough to clear his name and lead to the apprehension of the smuggling gang. Away from the case Nadine joins the school wrestling team, James learns that Evelyn Marsh is routinely beaten by her husband and Dick Tremayne starts to believe that Nicky, the young boy he is looking after, may be the devil!

This was another entertaining episode; it was good to see attempts to clear Cooper's name progress on two fronts... even if that wasn't Ben's intention when he hired Bobby. DEA Agent Denise Bryson's presence continues to be welcome as David Duchovny steals every scene he is in. That isn't to knock the rest of the cast; Kyle MacLachlan's portrayal of Agent Cooper continues to be great; I particularly liked the way his character inspected the scene at Dead Dog Farm; tasting the various things he found. Nadine's presence in high school continues to be amusing; it was great seeing her easily defeat the school's wrestling champion!

Another okay episode. It's very slow right now. Most of the new characters that have been introduced in the past couple of episodes have been intriguing to be fair. Mayor Milford is brilliant, Lana definitely seems to have something strange going on with her, and Agent Denise is also very cool. Evelyn I'm not so interested in because as of right now I don't see the point of James going off and cheating for no reason. Ben has lost the plot and is sending Bobby out on jobs which to be fair seems to have saved Cooper's skin. Despite the slowness, and a few plot threads which I have no interest in, these episodes still have their moments. Then of course there was the mysterious return of Major Briggs. The thing is, I'd assume that he's no longer Major Briggs, but I guess I'll find out

Major Briggs
AvionPrince1623 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So we know a little bit more how Cooper get trapped with the cocaine in his car and find the people who seem to trapped him and set a meeting. Major Briggs finally come back at home; we still dont know what happened to him. James try to know more about Mrs Marsh and learned that she is violented by her husband. We saw also how Catherine want Horne to lose everything and she is pretty hard with Josie.

The rythm still get more slow and things get not really interesting. Maybe just the part where Cooper need to defend himself against law. The arrival of Briggs can bring more interest in the next episode and maybe know more what is really up to. For now, the episode lack of any big interest; we follow each character in their plans, failed, success, problems but its pretty superficial for now it have some interesting comedy side but nothing more. Need to see more mysteries, revelations, surprises. Good for now i guess.

Probably Twin Peaks' most cartoony episode.
abacaxicuritibano22 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The mistakes of this episode do not consist on the goofy and cartoony scenes and dialogues in some parts, but in the unnecessary and boring subplots that don't seem to be a reasonable cause of the persistance of the season even after the majestic ending of episode 9.

James' new sublot and its irrelevant development, Bobby's new connection with Ben Horne with all of his jerkness, Josie's humiliating fate, and - the worst of them all - the long and weird develoment of Nadine, with her recent childish personality and strenght superpowers. At the beginning, it was interesting to thing about the meaning of that. But at this point, even the comeback of a forgotten character (Mike) seems to be ruined in order to make Nadine's subplot develoment in the goofiest way ever.
