"I'm Fat and I'm Proud" is the title of this episode. The new roommate in this episode is Newbie (played by Callum Keith Rennie) who we've seen before as the clerk at the convenience store. Newbie bonds with Curtis because he is also a TV addict, but sparks fly because he is interested in Hope. Hope is now working at the convenience store, too, where her friendship with Newbie develops further. Curtis becomes jealous, but can't admit it to Hope. To lash out at Newbie, he challenges him to a TV knowledge compeition and the reward being control of the remote for a week. Curtis wins the competition, where Hope is the judge, and Newbie moves out in disgrace. Curtis discovers Hope let him win the competition unfairly, and he is touched that she seems to really care about him.
