Augie Viale (John Beradino) is making his fortune with slot machines...which, surprisingly, were legal at the time in Chicago. But he's also a thug and he has his hands in a lot of illegal businesses as well. He is looking for a new partner in Frank O'Dine (Harry Guardino). O'Dine is just out of prison and wants nothing to do with Viale...but Viale has a trump card...O'Dine's daughter. It seems that this young lady THINKS her father is a war hero who died during WWI. Little does she know about his checkered past...and Viale will reveal it to her if her father doesn't cooperate. Then, once O'Dine agrees, Viale ups the ante...and demands that O'Dine kill Ness! As for Ness, he actually likes O'Dine and this is because years before O'Dine could have killed him in order to escape prison but didn't. So what is going to come of all this?
I noticed that the credits on IMDb and the summary do not match, as they refer to Guardino's character as O'Dine as well as Odine. I am assuming since he's supposed to be Irish that it's supposed to be O'Dine. Though, if you think about it, having the Italian-American actor playing an Irish-American is a bit odd--especially since the show had LOTS of roles for Italian-American characters.
As far as the episode goes, it's quite good...though the way it ended seemed awfully far-fetched. Still, good acting and a somewhat human Ness (a RARITY on this show) make this one worth seeing.
