The plot device of Mayor Cermak being stalked by a doting father pushing a baby carriage is based loosely on the tactic used by real life gangster Dutch Schultze when he planned to kill presidential candidate Thomas E Dewey.

She last performed in front of a camera when she was 95 years old. She is perhaps seen most often in her role as Mrs. Martini in the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life (1946).
