When DNA testing leads to the acquittal of Mark Lovell in the murder of his adoptive father 11 years previously, Supt. Boyd pushes to re-open the case. Although Lovell was only charged with killing one person, three other family members also disappeared as well as the family-owned fishing boat. While he accepts the forensic evidence that set Lovell free, Boyd isn't entirely convinced of his innocence. When the sunken boat is located, Boyd makes plans to raise it, but the remaining family isn't very cooperative. Mark has assumed a new persona, Maria and is alienated from what family he has left. When the boat is raised it's apparent that the three occupants were murdered.
