Josh is looking for a man who, while trying to rob a bank, is bitten by a rabid dog. He learns the law wanted him originally to lead them to his outlaw brother. Josh ends up captured by them but they don't believe him about the rabies.
Young immature Joe Hooker is being chased by a posse when his horse stumbles dumping him. He is able to hide nearby where the posse stops until Sheriff Akers decides to call off the search after receiving a note. They are after Joe for trying to hold up the bank. A female clerk fainted when he fired his gun but she is okay. Josh rides into town to the sheriff's office on the hunt for Joe who has a $500 bounty. Sheriff Akers sitting outside the office in response to Josh's question about Joe tells him the story but adds that Joe was bitten by a rabid dog on the leg so he doesn't have long to live. The reward on him was really a hope Joe would lead the law to his older outlaw brother Ben who has a rough history. Josh talks to the doctor who tells how bad the end will be for Joe but that the doctor at the Army fort may have a new cure. Josh finds Joe but is captured by him who takes Josh to Ben. However, neither of them believe the rabies story putting Josh and Joe in peril.—Anonymous
