The telecast was live from New York and was sponsored by Remington electric shavers, with promotional consideration for American Airlines for guest transportation.
This was the first telecast to feature the four panel members and moderator John Daly walking out to their introductions instead of being seated at the start of the program.
This telecast introduced the wooden ''What's My Line?'' wall logo that resembled a tennis court with crooked letters. There were also minor set changes. The fabric panels behind the four panelists and John Daly now had raised, fabric-covered edges where separate panels met. A dark satin curtain was now behind the curtains that matched the set's fabric panels, forming an aisle through which the panelists and Daly entered.
Dorothy and Arlene both had new and fancy two-thirds face masks for the Mystery Guest segment. Dorothy's featured ruffles, while Arlene's had two valentine hearts to match her ubiquitous heart necklaces. At the end of the program, Dorothy jokingly wore her ruffled mask as a hat for the good nights.
Mystery Guest Phil Silvers signed in as ''Sgt. Bilko,'' his wildly popular character on his TV series, ''You'll Never Get Rich'' and wore Sgt. Bilko's military uniform. Silvers ate an apple as he answered the panelists' questions in an attempt to disguise his well-known voice.
