The Fast and the Wormious

That worm was a rather impressive contraption, definitely an interesting episode. I like the different ways the show writers keep it interesting, so far in this series, like the original series there's been nothing bad, all the episode were good and enjoyable. Well done them!

Doesn't quite accelerate enough, doesn't screech to a halt

The setting is a fascinating one, car racing is not my thing usually and my knowledge of it is limited. But Scooby Doo, spookiness and car racing have mixed well before and also since, one of the most notable examples being 'The Scooby Doo Show's' "The Spooky Case of the Grand Prix Race" (which certainly lived up to its title). "The Fast and the Wormious" has the most unique monster of them all, though will admit on first watch years ago of being annoyed by Gibby Norton.

On rewatch, "The Fast and the Wormious" is better than remembered. The case is a lot more fascinating and Gibby no longer is annoying (the opposite, despite how Velma feels). Also appreciate the setting a lot more too and the monster is scarier. The story is not perfect by any stretch, but "The Fast and the Wormious" is very good. Not one of the best of Season 2 but the giant worm monster is one of the standout villains in terms of uniqueness.

As usual, the animation is vibrant and atmosphere and there is no problem with the backgrounds or character designs. Both polished and sleek without being overly so. The music is groovy and has real energy, the theme tune isn't an waxwork. The chase scene and song are creative enough if not one of my favourites. The writing has a lot of charm and fun.

Not just with Shaggy and Scooby, can't get enough of them, but also the hilarious worm worshippers. The setting is cool and the episode captures the spirit of it well. The worm is a unique creation and haven't seen anything like it in any Scooby Doo incarnation. Gibby has grown on me a lot, found him annoying on first watch but actually he is funny now. The voice acting is very good, especially from Casey kasem.

Sadly though, the story is pretty thin on the ground, which did affect some of the pacing, and is pretty predictable. Did find the solution unsurprising, both perpetrator and motive, but did find myself feeling sad.

Did find the Ascoobus stuff rather weird and that it could have been elaborated upon more.

Overall though, very enjoyable. 8/10.
