The character Malachi Crunch, is named for a move used during demolition derbies by the Malachi brothers in Happy Days (1974).
"Wrestle Maniacs," is a play on the name of the annual World Wrestling Entertainment event "Wrestlemania". The Scoobyverse previously used the same titular pun in Wrestle Maniacs (1990), and would later team up with real life wrestlers playing themselves in Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery (2014).
Aired on the 34th birthday of Scott Menville, who voiced numerous guest roles in the Scoobyverse, and stepped into the role of Shaggy Rogers in Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! (2006).
Velma is incredibly strong, she has a special move she calls the "Flying Dinkley", where she is able to simultaneously toss two female wrestlers completely above her own head from the ground. Not even the strongest male wrestlers can do this in reality.
Reporter Nancy Chang appears but does not speak. This character was voice by Lauren Tom during the first season's There's No Creature Like Snow Creature (2002) and Riva Ras Regas (2002).
