Fish Story
Hitchcoc5 February 2020
This episode focuses on fishermen who are working hard to make a living. They butt heads with government regulations, only allowing them to fish certain areas. One guy has had enough and decides to sink his boat, but there is a problem. I wish they had made clearer what these men were up against.

Warning: Spoilers
Well they cannot make episodes like this anymore. We have had Brexit. Still the Cornish fishermen complain.

Joe Mawnan (David Bradley) is facing financial ruin for overfishing and beaching EU quotas.

He decides to scuttle his own boat for an insurance claim but his long time friend Don dies.

Wycliffe has to decide whether the death was an accident or murder.

It is an episode with lots of angry fishermen and anti EU slant. No argument was made regarding why there were quotas and the dangers of overfishing.

Once again the baddie confesses with little dramatic tension.
