Tom has problems, and doesn't get a lot of sympathy.
Sleepin_Dragon21 October 2022
Tom is suffering all manner of digestive turmoils, thought to be ulcerative colitis or IBS, he naturally fears the worst, and has to go in for some tests.

Definitely a funny episode once again, with most of the laughs once again coming from Miranda, I just love how scathing she is. I felt a little sorry for Tom here, he doesn't get any sympathy from his wife, which was surprising, he got exactly what you'd expect from Miranda.

Funniest scene had to be watching Tom squirm in The hospital, as he sat waiting for his appointment. I like the trio of guys, Gerald, Pat and Don, they're such a random bunch.

Nice to see a young Anette Badland, I had no idea that she was such a prolific actress in her youth, perhaps best known for her roles on Doctor Who and Cutting it, she's just great, even funny here in her small role as the nurse.

7/10.

Tom's nightmare
ShadeGrenade2 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
One of the oldest sitcom plots in the book crops up here. A major character becomes ill and fears the worst, only then for it to turn out to be nothing serious. The problem is it is the only fourth episode, and it is a bit soon to do a story of this kind. It would have worked better perhaps in Season 2.

Alice does not seem bothered by her husband's predicament; she is working on her follow-up novel to 'Summer Of Love' and is experiencing writer's block. Miranda, as you might expect, is unconcerned for Tom's plight and thinks his death might drum up extra publicity for Alice's new book.

Funniest moment - Tom waiting for his hospital appointment. It manages to make you laugh and feel uncomfortable at the same time.
