  Xavier : [ironically in disbelief]  Carmen? I'm still alive.

  Carmen : Oh please. The cards have yet to be attuned to each other. I was just rehearsing. Draw another card. I have two minutes left before I go to Boma's.

  Xavier : Carmen, you've already predicted my future twenty times. I should've been dead last night, and Colonel in two years. I thought the man who sold those cards said you had talent? Is there no milk?

  Carmen : In my handbag.

  [he stares at her, surprised] 

  Xavier : Wouldn't that look better in the fridge?

  Carmen : I brought that milk from Oscar's. Savings. Come on, draw a card.

  Xavier : Why didn't I marry Doortje? She's now quietly and peacefully in bed with Pico.

  [he puts the card on the table] 

  Carmen : If you did anything other than snore, I would've been in bed next to you.

  [she turns the card] 

  Carmen : Oh no, Xavier.

  Xavier : What's the matter? Am I dying again?

  [he laughs] 

  Carmen : I see quarrels in our household.

  Xavier : Really? That way I can also predict the future, you know.

  [he spills milk] 

  Carmen : Damn it, can't you watch?
