  • Some elements of this series can be seen as dark and edgy for a children's show, such as explosions and crashes. The music, although composed by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell from Thomas the Tank Engine, is also very thrilling.

Violence & Gore

  • The episode "Munitions" features several on-screen deaths of characters. Big Mickey the crane's dock gets hit by an explosion and collapses into the sea, but he ends up surviving by falling into shallow water. The 20-minute version instead implies that he was killed off for real.
  • The aft hull of Kraka-Toa blows up and sinks to the sea. A deleted scene in a later episode reveals the burnt-up remains of the ship, revealing the character was killed off for real.
  • The Star Line petrol barge catches fire with petrol on board. Ten-Cents pushes it out of the away and the barge explodes before Ten Cents clears away, which seemingly takes him out. However, the following day it is revealed that Ten-Cents survived the explosion, abit badly damaged with a flooded engine.
