"Oh my god, our parents are so stupid."
Mr-Fusion24 September 2015
Now, I haven't seen every South Park episode, but there's no other that sens me into a fit of giggles like "Child Abduction Is Not Funny". It's got just the right ingredients: stupid townspeople ("Rabble! Rabble-Rabble!"), an absurd story, Tweak being tormented by his dad (that family's messed up) and some Mongorians from outta nowhere.

But there's also (and here's the best part) Tuong Lu Kim, who's gotta be one of my favorite characters on this show (and really, just an excuse for Trey Parker to use his awesomely racist Asian voice). It's priceless.

Sure, the whole building-a-wall-around-the-town business is extremely, but it works here. And seeing Kim rail against the Mongorian horde is some of South Park's best stuff.

Classic South Park, a must watch and strong rewatch episode
tomdegroot-572243 February 2022
The plot is so funny and the comedy itself is some of the best of early South Park. Start to finish the episode is extremely funny and features some of the most memorable side characters and "city" features! An episode you can rewatch 1000 times and it will never get old. High rewatch value and most watch for memorable moments.

The Great Wall of South Park
hellraiser73 July 2018
This episode is another honorable mention in my book, the time I saw this episode is ironic for me because it was the time I was taking a "Chinese Film Studies" course.

Not much I can really say, this episode pretty much parodies and satires on the fear/paranoia subculture the news has unfortunately created. I personally am not a person that watches the news because most of the time it's damn depressing, boring but most of all one sided and unhelpful. Most news programs always have news about this and that crime, but we hardly see news about any heroic efforts or positivity much. We see the parents put the kids in more danger than keep them safe because of all the crap the news is feeding them; this sort of justifies why reading or watching the news too much isn't always healthy.

This episode was where the character Tuong Lu Kim entered, I really like this character despite not in the show that much. He's obviously a parody on the Asian stereotypes, it's just funny how much he keeps addressing on it but most of all he just has some funny memorable lines and moments. My favorite line "God Damn Mongolians!" His subplot plays out like a "Looney Tunes" cartoon as he keeps building "The Great Wall of South Park" Mongolian solders out of nowhere keep breaking it down for no reason and constantly give him grief. We of course see constantly trying to defend the wall, but every effort is fruitless. One scheme I like is when he tries to pour Sweet and Sour Pork on them but it of course backfires and he gets stuck. Another is when he's in warrior gear and is doing a death dance which is supposed to be a Chinese Swordsman Kata but he's doing it badly and wrong and you can easily guess the result.

However, some of the stuff before is also funny from seeing Tweek getting well really Tweeky no surprise. He's sympathetic from not just seeing one news program to many that has made him paranoid to the oomph degree, to his very unhelpful parents that are teaching him all the wrong lessons which just amps Tweek paranoia. Really like one thing Stan says on all the parents being fraking stupid, yes, they are. And of course, those child tracker helmets which are too big and really stand out in the public eye.

Child Abduction isn't funny but this episode is.

of course the City Wok owner is gonna help build the wall
RainDogJr10 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty good episode, clever and damn hilarious. It begins and it is basically a Tweek episode, too much pressure for Tweek as usual but now is a bit more, he has been watching the news to only find that now practically his own house is not a safe place. The parents' show begins, Tweek's parents indicate to him that he must not trust anybody but them, too much fear for Tweek and is quite funny but is funnier when Tweek finds a little light. He is told that human kindness exist yet we don't get to see that on the news, Tweek understand that abductors, murderers, all those people only make up a small part of the world but also he will understand that in the world you can meet an abductor that is "The Ghost of Human Kindness"! That's a really great part and what the fact that Tweek was almost abducted by "The Ghost of Human Kindness" will bring to South Park? Of course nothing but paranoia, TV speaks, parents listen and at one point every child must leave town before their parents abduct them! Is just hilarious, is like parents crying being like "go away son before I abduct you". Also at one point the people of South Park decide to build a wall to keep South Park without unwanted strangers and they go with the City Wok Owner, a Chinese building a wall in whatever place means Mongolians in that place! Crazy fun here and in the end the children will only find out that the stupidity of their parents has no damn limits!

Something from Trey and Matt's mini commentary: they visited the Great Wall of China once, there they were just having fun by saying the same stuff that the City Wok Owner says to the Mongolians during this episode. Matt remarks that the Chinese don't note when you're doing an offensive Chinese accent.

Child Abduction IS Funny
gangstahippie30 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is a really funny South PArk episode. It also shows how paranoid parents can get when it comes to their children and how most news stories try to make us afraid. There have been recent child abductions shown on the news and Tweek is now more paranoid than ever.So is everyone else in south park. One day a man claiming to be the "ghost of human kindness" comes to Tweek's room and shows him all the kind people. He then turns out to be a child abductor himself. The police catch him but now the parents are getting more paranoid. They ask the owner of the local Chinese restaurant "City Wok" to build a great wall around South Park. However, Mongolians keep breaking it down(in a hilarious sub-plot) The boys also get special big child-tracker devices planted on their heads and eventually the parents start going everywhere with them.Eventually they send the boys off when finding out that they themselves could be abductors(as stated on the news) and the boys become mongolians.THis is a very funny episode of South PArk with quite a bit of laughs.
