More fog than...

The movie The Fog. Joel and the bots seemed to be hemmed in a bit themselves by all the fog in the movie, There are some good parts here and there, but mostly some average laughs. The host segments are decent, a bit above average. Overall a pretty average effort for MST3K, some decent laughs to be had but nothing great.

"Hip-not-ick!"

Looking back, this was one of the lesser episodes of the show as a whole. It didn't really get good until Season 2 when TV's Frank came. That being said, this was still a good episode! Even the weakest episode of my favorite show is better than the strongest of my least favorite. Anyway, Larry just wasn't that funny and Josh Weinstein didn't have as good a voice for Tom Servo. There were still some good parts here, especially when the characters were out of the theater and talking about how the movie made no sense. They then mention how they own show makes no sense! There's a big difference though. Their show is entertaining!

This movie was preceded by a "Commander Cody" episode. As I see these episodes out of order, I don't follow the story too well. Of course, when it's this bad, you don't need to! They still had some really good riffs in general. My favorite might be when the movie said, "I can't stop thinking about these slime people", followed by, "It's hard to forget looking at a mug like yours". I also liked the line, "We all know there's fish in the ocean" with, "That's a little far-fetched". It wasn't until later episodes that the show really got to be a classic, but these are still funny! ***
