good film this, watched it in Tagalog and despite my average grasp of the language, i was able to enjoy it and found it an enthralling bit of cinema. I like Asian films anyway, so i suppose that helps. This film is pure melodrama which is an area of artistry that is in abundance in Phillippine culture, music, television, film etc (those who have heard of 'Encantardia' will understand what I mean). Anyway, the story is about this guy (Dantes) who forms a bond of destiny with a lady from yesteryear (Calzado), when he makes a phone call whilst on a vacation at an old landmark. The story progresses from that point and basically revolves around the dialogue between Marco and Devina, culminating in the point where, despite the fact they are 50 years apart, they arrange to somehow meet but Devina drowns when the ferry she is on sinks. However there is a happy ending to this film as Devina did not drown after all and this is revealed at the end.
Moments was an incredibly successful movie in The Philippines and ran in theatres for weeks, due to popular demand. The soundtrack's main title 'Moments of Love' is a reworking of an early 1980's OPM song by Isela and Michael Cruz. The soundtrack is available on GMA Records.
